I have had about four trainings with James and it has been a great experience for a newbie like me. I like that James integrates information with hands-on. It was easier for me to understand and remember. In addition to being very knowledgeable in pickle ball, I appreciate how he personally interacts with me. He is kind, understanding, patient, and super helpful — that helps a lot when you’re new and learning. I had 1 hour lesson with James Douglas and it was so comprehensive covering a lot of points that I had missed from previous lessons and after playing around 2 years inside gym! Drills were very useful, stance, where to look how to block slammers, Drive, Drop, Dink. Feet movement, shoulder movement, paddle placement signed up for 2nd lesson! – Susan

I’ve had 2 lessons with James and they were absolutely fantastic! After 2 lessons and only  hitting pickleballs socially about 3 times, I was getting compliments on my hits and people who had been playing much longer, intimidated to approach us to play! When I heard that, I laughed!

I attribute that 100% to the guidance I’ve received from James who explains things in a really great way that makes various techniques easy to understand and remember. I enjoyed my lessons with James and plan to do more! I’ve been telling everyone I know to sign up for lessons with him!

Not only that, my aunt who has been playing for 8 months, taken several lessons and done clinics, learned a TON from his BEGINNER lesson with me and said it’s by far the best lesson she’s attended. Couldn’t recommend him more!

I decided to take my niece to the lesson to learn the game and I participated as well. I am an intermediate player and I have to say he did great to teach my niece the game, the strokes, the strategy, and to keep me engaged and gave me some ideas to improve my game. He uses great metaphors to also help you remember what he is teaching you as well as he keeps it moving so you’re really engaged the entire time. He demonstrates all needed skills, puts us through drills long enough to be effective, but not so long as to become tedious. He answers all questions in an intelligent and easily understood manner. James is an amazing teacher. He has a great knowledge of pickleball and breaks things down to help us newbies understand. I’ve been taking lessons with my sis-in-law and he lets us know what each of us needs to work on and demonstrates techniques very well.
